Vardon wins his second Open Championship at Prestwick, Scotland. The following day he wins first prize at St Nicholas Golf Course, Prestwick. Vardon and his brother Tom played in a professional event at Royal County Down Golf Club for a purse of a 100 guineas. Vardon was the leading qualifier for the matchplay final on 173.
